G-NAF Products and Services
The Geocoded National Address File of Australia (G-NAF) is Australia's authoritative address index of suburb, street, number, and geocode (latitude/longitude) information. G-NAF uses existing and recognised address sources including the Government land records, as well as address data from Australia Post and the Australian Electoral Commission.
Applications for G-NAF include:
- Address verification and validation
- Spatial analyses, such as flood or bushfire zone impacts
- Map presentation
G-NAF Address Table
MapData Sciences takes the complex relational data provided by the Government and creates simple, easy-to-use data tables in a variety of GIS formats. We then enhance the data by providing an accurate postcode for each address — important for distinguishing towns of the same name in different parts of a state.
G-NAF Online Batch Geocoding
The MapData Sciences Online Batch Geocoder is an Internet-based, pay-per-use geocoding utility that allows you to simply upload a file for geocoding. There is nothing to install and your results are returned via email in just a few minutes, tagged with latitude/longitude and the appropriate G-NAF PID.
G-NAF QuickLocate® Desktop Geocoder
The QuickLocate® Desktop Geocoder is an easy-to-use desktop application that verifies and geocodes lists of addresses. Each address is assigned a geographic latitude and longitude, a G-NAF PID identifier, and a result code indicating the quality of the geocode.
G-NAF QuickLocate® Geocoding SDK
QuickLocate® SDK is a software development kit that allows you to embed geocoding technology into your own environment, using G-NAF as a base. Whether it be for batch geocoding or individual address lookups, QuickLocate SDK provides a straight-forward programming interface that allows you to be up and running in no time.
